Right to Respond

As part of our commitment to providing an honest and transparent view of health and social care services, Healthwatch Birmingham encourages providers to respond to comments the public have left.

Alongside ensuring providers can have a fair say in discussions about their services, replying to reviews demonstrates evidence of responding to patient feedback for the CQC, who regularly monitor our Feedback Centre. It is also an effective way to recruit service users for any wider engagement work at your organisation.

Guidelines for provider responses:

  • Keep language appropriate and civil
  • Remain professional and treat people’s comments fairly
  • Engage with the content of the review by addressing specific points and avoid cut and pasting a standard response
  • Don’t disclose the service user’s personal details or any potentially identifying information
  • Where appropriate leave organisational contact details e.g PALS or patient engagement teams for people to get further information

Remember: your response will be seen by everyone who uses the Feedback Centre, not just the original reviewer. All responses are moderated in accordance with our moderation policy.

Amazing carers for end of life patients

My Mom received carers from this agency for several months in the run up to her passing. I cannot commend the carers enough for their compassion and empathy to not only my Mom but family also during this really difficult time. We had regular carers on set days and always knew who was coming. Each and every carer went above and beyond for my Mom and they really brightened up her day. They would attend 4 times a day with 2 carers, they gave myself and my family peace of mind when we weren't able to be present as I trusted them implicitly. The office staff were also amazing! Always answered the phone and were on hand should I have any questions in regards to Mom's care. I cannot thank the carers and office enough for what they have done for all of us and I would recommend them 100% to anyone who needs care. This agency is amazing and needs to be commended for their efforts in the industry! Thank you all!!!
