It’s Nurses’ Day!

The big day has finally arrived- the annual, international event which sees the general public, nursing staff, and their patients, come together to celebrate incredible nursing and the nursing profession.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) to lead the UK celebrations, raising awareness of the exceptional difference that nursing staff make to people’s daily lives, going the extra mile, day in, day out, for patients up and down the UK.
To mark this year’s event we have collected inspirational stories from patients and our members to show what a remarkable difference nursing staff make to the lives of millions, day in day out across the UK.
School children across the UK, aged 5-11, have also supported the celebrations by creating colourful depictions of nursing for our card competition. Have a look at all of their artistic entries
It’s not too late to share your Nurses’ Day story. If you’re holding an event locally, promoting nursing in your workplace, or just want to tell everyone about how much caring for patients means to you, please tell everyone about it through our social media channels:
Please help us mark Nurses’ Day 2014 and shout loud about nursing achievements by posting your stories on our online form, or through one of our social media channels.
