Healthwatch Birmingham welcomes new staff joining the team

Healthwatch Birmingham is delighted to welcome Barbara Hagger (Research Assistant), Phil Morgan (Audit Officer), Chris Smith (Policy Officer) and Diane Hickey (Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Board) to the staff team.

Barbara joins the team as our Research Assistant and will be supporting and leading on our investigations, using patient and public experiences of health and social care to drive our work in tackling avoidable inequity. Phil will be leading on Healthwatch Birmingham’s Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) work as our new Audit Officer, with a focus on auditing the level of PPI in the local health and social care system to continuously improve standards through our quality standard.
As Policy Officer, Chris will be ensuring Healthwatch Birmingham’s activities are supported and informed by local and national policies and promoting PPI through the scrutiny of policies and consultations. Diane will be working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and supporting the efficient smooth running and governance of the organisation.
Andy Cave, CEO, stated: “I am delighted to welcome Barbara, Chris, Phil and Diane and proud to have a strong team which brings together a depth of experience and expertise. Their appointments mark another stage in our growth, leading to an exciting year ahead for Healthwatch Birmingham.”
