Experience and Information Officer 

£20,344 – £21,589 per annum (pro rata)

20 Hours per week (Preferably over 5 days)

Based at Cobalt Square, 83 Hagley Road, Birmingham. B16 8QG

The role of Experience and Information Officer at Healthwatch Birmingham is critical to our ability to listen to the experiences of Birmingham citizens. You will help individuals access the support they need by signposting to services and information so they can make informed decisions about their health and social care needs..

You will have the ability to listen to and understand an individual’s experience of health and social care and be passionate about helping them find services to support them. You will work across all contact routes (telephone, online and face-to-face) to engage individuals, increasing opportunities for us to provide information and signposting and developing our volunteers to support this area of work.

The main purposes of the role are to:

  1. Interview citizens to understand their experiences of health and social care, including identifying any gaps in the provision of services, and write case studies to capture this feedback.
  2. Provide citizens with excellent information and signposting to access the services they need, and record detailed summaries of your work on the CRM system.
  3. Ensure our online information route, and volunteers, are able to provide answers to common information and signposting queries.
  4. Escalate cases to health and social care providers and regulators, as indicated by the Healthwatch Birmingham escalation policy.

Project Officer 

£24,313 – £26,317 per annum

37 Hours per week

Based at Solihull Enterprise Centre, Hedingham Grove. B37 7TN

This exciting new role of Project Officer at Healthwatch Solihull is central to our ability to collect, record and use high-quality feedback to make positive changes in health and social care services.

By designing and leading our projects, you will ensure we produce high quality reports that influence positive changes to services for Solihull citizens. You will also respond to health and social care consultations, project manage staff and quality-assure work to achieve objectives.

You will have demonstrable experience of project management and a background in evidence-based practice and report writing. Updating our website to promote  opportunities for people to get involved with Healthwatch Solihull, leave their feedback about services and celebrate our impact is also central to the role. 

The main purposes of the role are to:

  1. Lead on investigations that positively impact health and social care services in Solihull.
  2. Input, moderate and report all health and social care service user experience data we collect onto the feedback centre and CiviCRM system.
  3. Analyse service user experience data to identify key health and social care issues in Solihull.
  4. Share service user experience data with health and social care organisations through the production of reports (e.g. quarterly reports, consultation responses, bulletins, quality account responses etc.).
  5. Manage the day-to-day running of our website.

Community Officer

£19,554 – £21,166 per annum

37 Hours per week

Based at Solihull Enterprise Centre, Hedingham Grove. B37 7TN

This exciting new role at Healthwatch Solihull is central to our ability to work within local communities and listen to diverse and vulnerable groups, so health and social care services understand their needs when improving care.

You will need excellent engagement skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals. You will be required to motivate and co-ordinate volunteers to gather experiences of health and social care effectively.

You will have demonstrable experience of working with different communities and engaging the public both face-to-face and online. You will need to use innovative ways to motivate individuals to share their stories with Healthwatch Solihull, have a passion for listening to the public and accurately record their experiences and monitor data. 

The main purposes of the role are to:

  1. Develop our productive relationships within the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, working with other organisations to reach our most vulnerable communities.
  2. Carry out a rolling schedule of community engagement activity for Solihull citizens to share their experiences of health and social care services), and provide signposting information to support them.
  3. As directed by the Healthwatch Solihull Manager, carry out activity that leads to the recruitment, training, induction, co-ordination and quality assurance of all Healthwatch Solihull volunteers ensuring they have the right skills and competency. Motivate and develop volunteers to ensure all of our various activities are publicly-led.
  4. Work with VCSE partners, and as directed by the Healthwatch Solihull Manager, to recruit,train and co-ordinate external volunteers to collect feedback about health and social care services as part of our Community Partnership.
  5. As directed by the Project Officer, undertake community based activity which will enable us to hear citizen views for our investigations.
