Volunteer & Engagement Officer (Healthwatch Birmingham)

£23,836 – £26,999 per annum

35 Hours per week
Based at Cobalt Square, 83 Hagley Road, Birmingham. B16 8QG

 As Volunteer and Engagement Officer, you will lead the recruitment, training, induction, co-ordination and quality assurance of all Healthwatch Birmingham volunteers, ensuring we have volunteers with the right skills and competencies. You will motivate and develop our volunteers to be active in the right place at the right time; ensuring all of our various activities are publicly led.

The successful applicant will lead our community engagement activity reaching across all geographies and demographics in the city. You will also work with our Information and Signposting Officer to develop volunteers to carry out signposting activity as well as capture case studies of how volunteering has improved the lives of individuals involved with Healthwatch Birmingham.

You will have experience of building and maintaining key relationships across a range of statutory, voluntary and community organisations and have knowledge and understanding of Birmingham and its diverse communities. The successful applicant will be highly organised and have a detailed approach to work and work management in a project-based environment, with proven experience coordinating and managing rolling programmes of varied events.

Information & Social Media Officer (Healthwatch Solihull)

£20,344 – £21,589 per annum
37 Hours per week
Based at Solihull Enterprise Centre, Hedingham Grove. B37 7TN

This exciting new role of Information and Social Media Officer at Healthwatch Solihull is critical to our ability to listen to the experiences of Solihull citizens and empower them to make informed decisions about their health and social care needs.  You will also use your communications expertise to raise the profile of Healthwatch Solihull with the public and our key stakeholders.

The main purpose of the role is:

Information and Signposting

  1. To interview citizens via the telephone to understand their experiences of health and social care, including identifying any gaps in the provision of services, and write case studies to capture this feedback. Leading Information and Signposting at Healthwatch Solihull and supporting Healthwatch Birmingham’s Information and Signposting service as needed.
  2. To deliver an excellent Information and Signposting service by providing citizens with effective Information and Signposting to access the care they need. Recording detailed summaries of your work on the CRM system.
  3. To ensure our information route on our website is clear and easy to navigate.
  4. To escalate cases to health and social care, as indicated by the Healthwatch Solihull escalation policy

Social Media

  1. Plan and implement a structured social media plan for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and NextDoor.
  2. Ensure our social media platforms are updated daily with new content.
  3. Support the rolling gather of data via social media.
  4. Ensure our social media platforms are regularly updated with health and social care news.
  5. Grow our list of followers across all platforms.
  6. Grow our engagement numbers across all platforms.
