West Midlands Combined Authority Mental Health Commission Citizen's Jury Needs You!

February 17, 2016

From the West Midlands Combined Authority.
The Commission is eager to make sure that the opinions of members of the public are central to the work of the Commission, and are setting up a Citizen’s Jury and holding a series of Open Space Listening Events.
They are looking for 20 local people to meet together twice a week for 2.5 hours over 4 weeks to talk about mental health and wellbeing in the West Midlands.
Together the Jury will explore people’s experiences of mental health and wellbeing and start to answer the question How can public services help to build wellbeing and keep people mentally well in the West Midlands?’. You don’t need to have special skills or knowledge. All you need is to be willing to talk about your views and opinions and listen to those of other people.
The first four sessions will be held in March and the last four will be in May.
As part of the group of 20 people, you will be creating local recommendations for the West Midlands Mental Health Commission, chaired by Norman Lamb MP. This jury is set up by the West Midlands Authority (made up of seven local councils) and is being run by community engagement specialists, Shared Future. The Commission will use the recommendations produced by the group to help decide what should happen in the future in the West Midlands.
