Long wait for follow up appointment
June 14, 2023
We accessed the service again in September 2022, where we saw a speech and language therapist in June 2022. Everything was fine. School said there were issues with his speech and that he'd need to be referred again. They said the follow up appointment would be in 17 weeks, Still waiting in June 2023 for the referral appointment. I did chase it up and they said the waiting time was now 30 weeks. School has been really good at helping him in the meantime.
Easy self referral - pleasant nurses

The self referral was easy when I needed to do it. There's good communication, efficient care and the nurses are very pleasant.

Staff not helpful
August 6, 2018
Staff were not always helpful. However members of staff had been supportive especially when providing mental health support. Staff were kind and empathetic regarding the patient’s history of childhood trauma. Overall staff attitude, however, has not been consistently helpful and supportive.
Concerns over communication and respect
August 26, 2016
It is concerning about the level of respect that some staff show people who use the service. Some of the communication on the phone is very patronising and does not take into account that learning disabilities do not automatically mean someone is of low intelligence. It is also a concern that service user’s records can be very out of date, despite a service user asking for specific factual data to be updated.
