Took time to listen and understand

June 10, 2021
We support adult survivors of modern slavery, we recently helped one of our clients to register there. Our client has significant mental health problems (including multiple suicide attempts, anxiety, depression) and in constant pain due to historic injuries. The Health Exchange carried out a really thorough and comprehensive assessment of her health (it wasn't a 10-20 minute rush), immediately referred her for a scan and offered her specialist psychiatric support quickly. What we particularly noticed and appreciate is that they took time to LISTEN AND TO UNDERSTAND the nature of our clients issues and then to ACT PROMPTLY. They took her concerns and issues seriously and understood the nature of her trauma without judgment with expert care. When we, as a support service, contacted the practice with our concerns (with client's consent), they took time to hear what we had to say and responded by arranging a call and an appointment with the client.

People are helpful

April 10, 2019
It is good because you feel something different here - people are helpful. They try and help, English is not my first language and they stay with you until you know exactly what your situation is. People are really friendly. I found out about this service through the Salvation Army. Appointments good - they let you know what time going to be and not waiting a long time

Lack of help and support

October 1, 2018
I lost my son three years ago, social services took him from me. Since then my mental health has been really deteriorating and I am no longer in touch with my family or have a home. I used to take medication for my mental health, but since I took numerous overdoses they stopped my medication. I see nurse or doctor at health xchange every 2 -3 weeks. They are generally ok, but I am desperate to get help for my mental health. I need help! I have never been offered any support or counselling and I am desperate.
