Lack of communication between services

Dementia
October 24, 2023
They prescribed medication for over a year and the GP called to ask who prescribed it. There is no communication between the two and that is worrying, because there could be a case where medication could clash if they're not talking to each other.

Changed medication, wait for appointment

Dementia
October 24, 2023
They talked to me here and changed my medication. I waited around 1 month for the appointment. They said it could be an affect from the Alzheimer's as to why I ended up in A&E, and prescribed me the medication to take.

Pretty hopeless. They discharged my mom and said she didn't need to be with them anymore. She is on a lot of medication and they prescribed medication for Alzheimer's, when she has Vascular Dementia.

The waiting times are unacceptable.

October 24, 2023
I see someone at the Juniper and I don't think they talk to my GP and communicate with each other at all. I don't get that impression. They book 6-12 month appointments and keep them. I recently contacted the bowel and bladder service and they gave me an appointment for the end of the year. But a friend told me about the cancellation service and so we've been given one quicker. I feel like its only because I asked to be on a cancellation list we got one quicker. Otherwise I feel the waiting time are unacceptable in these circumstances.

The nurses are so caring together with psychologists who are excellent. We have a lovely garden we can sit in, in time I hope to be well and more like my old self? Every member of staff are lovely and are there to help you recover.

I think the staff need to be a bit more friendly and approachable when you go to the main desk and give you eye contact when you are talking to them.
