They put end of life patients so far away from the main office without a call button leaving you having to
Constantly ask for medication

My grandmother wa resident at Marian House and was extremely happy there. Staff are friendly and caring and always made time for us . Management always willing to chat with us. We particularly enjoyed the residents support group.
Extremely disappointed

A few staff are very good, the majority are not and mostly don't have the time or inclination to do anything but the absolute minimum. Communication relating to my relative's care is non-existent either to family or to my relative and staff are unwilling to take calls. The standard of care is poor. My relative is extremely unhappy and disappointed.
Only helpful when it suits them

Two of the carers and one member of office staff were lovely and looked after mom really well. Unfortunately the rest of them were either unhelpful or gave the impression that they didn’t really care unless it fitted in with their plans. My mom was basically bedbound for months because she didn’t have the energy to go to the residents lounge in the morning when it suited them. She had a very sore bottom and was very uncomfortable after 10 months of lying in bed. She then had to move to another care home because we couldn’t afford the exorbitant fee for an en-suite toilet that she never actually used. The room she was in wasn’t modern at all, was poorly decorated and tatty and very small. One particular woman in the office was particularly rude and unhelpful whenever we had dealings with her and gave the impression that she didn’t particularly care about the residents only about the money coming in. Luckily the place she went to is much better equipped with a much better quality of staff and she has an en-suite larger than a toilet cubicle that we don’t get charged for. She also has a pressure alarmed mattress next to her bed so that if she rolls out of bed a member of staff is immediately notified and rushes to assist her. At Marian House if she rolled out of bed she could be lying there for quite some time before somebody happened to pass by and notice she was hurt.
Shocking treatment from a place that we are supposed to trust to take care of our elderly parents and who are supposed to help us to feel at ease over leaving our loved ones here. Not worth the extra money over what the Government pay and I would certainly never recommend this place to anybody who loves their elderly family member.
