I have registered with my GP but I am yet to use them. They were quick to register me and when I called for an update they were polite.

I saw a doctor at COPD clinic who was good

November 15, 2023
I haven't had to get an appointment for a while. The COPD clinic though where I saw a doctor was good. I see them every 6 months or so. All cared for through the GP

Always difficult to get an appointment

September 14, 2021
Always difficult to get an appointment and GP's are very reluctant to see you. I rarely use the GP service because it’s so difficult but the last time I did I waited 2 weeks for a telephone consultation just to discuss my blood test results. Hospital a/es are at breaking point which isn’t helped by gps telling people to go to hospital instead of seeing their own patients Also Some receptionists are very dismissive

Referral problems and misdiagnosed

February 10, 2020
Attended GP Surgery with UTI symptoms. I was given antibiotics, which didn't seem to clear the infection. I was told by another doctor at my GP surgery that I was given the wrong dosage. I saw 4 different GPs at my surgery over the space of 3 months. I had excruciating pain in my abdomen and it took until the end of October /beginning of November for any of my GPs to refer me for scans. I visited A&E 4 times over the course of these 3 months where no scan was given and was told my symptoms and results were not serious enough. When I finally got an ultrasound scan the radiographer told me that it should have been done in A&E as I had a blockage. I had a CT scan at the end of November which showed the blockage had cleared after a worryingly and traumatic few months. The pain was so bad I had to take time of work and I had taken 4 different types of antibiotics over three months whilst being told by numerous doctors they were not sure if the UTI had cleared.
This was a horrendous experience as I was never seen by a consistent person. I wasn't take seriously. I had to keep chasing my GP's to investigate further. It didn't help that I saw a different GP every time. QE waiting times were awful Doctors at QE would just give me more antibiotics and say that my symptoms didn't warrant a scan. I was told different information by my radiographer than what he had written on the report and to my GP wouldn't listen to what I was saying about needing another scan even though I had been in pain for 2 months at that point.

Failure of communication stopping medication

September 3, 2019
I have complained on several occasions to this surgery requested complaints procedure which is unknown to the manager.
I have had no shows of G.p home visits and then told nurse is coming to which was told she told the G.p she couldn't weeks went on and still they couldn't get there act together. Persistent medication being stopped with out being informed and then told due to cuts but no explanation to consultant who prescribed from hospital. No alternative and then was told by g.p one evening. It's not there problem they just provide the prescription and I have to go find the medication even though the pharmacy said its been out of stock for month's. I was just told its not there problem. The hospital told me the G.p has a duty of care so it is there problem. As a disabled patient the pharmacy is constantly ringing me to ring the g.p to resolve prescription issues. This is unacceptable and unnecessary stress which is making me more ill.
It seems clear the care and service has gone down hill and I feel stuck and helpless.
To a point of neglect and failure by this surgery so much so that it has impacted on my mental health and I have simply had enough.
