Excellent medium sized home

March 6, 2024
Mum lived at Ivybank for the last 18 months of her life. Throughout that time I was happy with the care provided. The cleaning regime is good. Singer's/storytellers come in twice a week. Food is good, especially the puds. Residents can be difficult at first but they do settle down. The carers do a good job in a committed way.

Bad management

The management is worse then anything. They do not care about the Residents; thy provide very limited source for the residents. Limited staff who have to be all rounder.

Resident not spoken to appropriately

October 21, 2019
I went to Ivybank today to make enquiries regarding my mother. A resident elderly woman was singing in the lounge. A member of staff in the lounge told her to shut up!! She wasnt singing loudley, this carer again told her to shut up or she would take her back to her room. This person was not aware i overheard this. I spoke to the receptionist told her how disgusted i was and is this is how your staff speak to an elderly woman??? I had come to enquire about a place for my mother, needless to say i would never leave my mother in such a terrible place.

My cousin is now a permanent resident at Ivy Bank. She is looked after in an excellent way. She spends her day in the common room with others. The facilities are good.
