Lack of access due to severe anxiety
October 15, 2025
Accessing appointments is difficult because I have severe anxiety and find it very hard to leave the house. I request telephone appointments but this is not always possible. Home visits are not a possibility because I am young and not physically disabled. This means that I do not access the service when needed. On occasions when I have managed to visit the GP with support appointments have been difficult because I have only been able to discuss one issue at the appointment. When it takes such a lot to get to the surgery it would be helpful if we could discuss everything rather than having to arrange lots of different appointments. There needs to be better understanding and more adjustments made for people like me.
Access difficulties being visually impaired
October 9, 2025
I find digital access difficult due to being visually impaired. I have to telephone the surgery as soon as phonelines are open to try and get an appointment. I can usually get an appointment this way, but I am quite often sent to the Church Road Surgery, which is very expensive for me because public transport is difficult and I have to pay for taxi fares. I request telephone appointments but this is not always possible. Another issue I have is that you are told by the receptionists that you can only discuss one issue per appointment. When you have complex conditions this can be very difficult because quite often different symptoms/issues are connected.
Arranged a test
May 6, 2025
I just so happened to be in there and I asked for a prostate cancer test and they did arrange it for another day for me. They don't tell you about the cancer tests you meet the criteria for.
No appointments

The GP surgery is not very good. I can't get appointments, it's a struggle. I phone at 8am, there are no appointments and then I have to call back the next day or if its an emergency I call 111 which is what I did.

Very friendly staff

Very friendly staff. The GP's are very helpful and explain the medical issues in detail so that I can understand my health problems.
Receptionists demand to know what's wrong
May 30, 2023
They're not very good. Can never get an appointment, I live right by Tile Cross and they will give me an appointment at the Church Road Surgery. It takes ages to get through to them. The receptionists don't understand English and don't understand what you are saying. At Tile Cross they demand to know what's wrong with me when I don't have to tell them that information.
I cannot go down corridor
May 9, 2022
I am confined to a wheelchair with multiple conditions and serious illnesses. Because I can’t open my front door the Dr will not come out to me. No matter what the weather I have to go to Church Rd surgery because I cannot go down corridor at the Tile Cross surgery as there is a radiator in the way. I received a text saying unless you are seriously ill you will not get an appointment. How ill must I be?
Impossible to get a doctor’s appointment
May 9, 2022
It is impossible to get a doctor’s appointment. You can't get past reception. My husband is 78 years is diabetic and is at start of dementia but we have to do phone calls. Would change doctors but they all seem the same. God help us, what's happened to our lovely NHS.
Still no doctors appointment
August 13, 2021
Tile Cross Surgery is still not open for Dr's appointment, you can see an HCA to take your blood. We have to ring sister practice Church Road for appointments of any kind. 1 Surgery in effect serving 2 practice patients. When you ring at 08.00 you never get through, when you do it says we have reached capacity, please phone again later. You keep trying then it says you are number 15 in the group waiting, this has taken 40 mins at times, really not good enough. Dr's aren't looking at test results early enough.
