I am sorry to hear that there was a delay in your sons appointment, however, I am pleased to hear that the Doctors compensated for the delay and ensured that you recieved an excellent explanation. It is also fantastic to hear that you recieved great help and support for your sons operations.

We are pleased to hear that the staff on the Burn Unit were helpful and attentive, this must have been very welcome at what must have been a very distressing time for you all. We will ensure that your lovely comments are brought to the attention of the team, and we are sure that they will be pleased that their efforts have not gone unnoticed! Nevertheless, it is disappointing that your experience was affected by long waits for blood tests and in Pharmacy. Both departments serve the whole hospital, and inevitably will be busy, however, both teams are constantly seeking ways to improve flow through their departments. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the waiting time too long, especially for disabled children. The comfort of our patients and families is paramount to us, and we are constantly seeking ways to improve the experience of those visiting our hospital. We have recently made improvements to the waiting area in the Main Outpatients Department, including providing screens and colouring tables for children to play with. We do appreciate that managing a long waiting time with a disabled child can be challenging, and we do encourage parents to speak to the nurse in charge of the clinic to find alternative arrangements. We are sorry that the toilets were not up to the high standards we would normally expect during your visit - you are absolutely right, it is imperative that hygiene and infection control is maintained throughout the Trust.
