Very efficient and reliable

In fifteen years, and until the present, I have found the above surgery very efficient and reliable in all ways. I have been well served by both the medical and administrative staff. I have not had reason to need a personal appointment since the beginning of lockdown, and so cannot comment on that matter, but for prescription services and organisation of the vaccination programme, I can say they have been first rate and entirely reliable.

Really hard to get an appointment when needed an not a lot of support when I have said I have self harmed and needed help with mental health. The Dr told me there is nothing he can do for me, and I needed to contact my family or friends for help with mental health

They don’t care about their patients health!

I have developed many symptoms since 3 months ago and I can’t eat any kind of food as I will have reactions on my body, I nearly died but still after 3 months they haven’t given me a blood test appointment. No body care about my situation and I don’t know what to do! They are just bringing excuses for not giving me blood test appointment. Very poor service. I am dealing with my life and they don’t care really. I need immediate attention but they don’t understand how serious is my situation. Nobody’s helping me.

They do not stick to time for appointments

I never have a problem getting a GP/nurse appointment but since lockdown when I have booked an appointment at a particular time they do not stick to it. Eg. wondering why I do not pick up the phone at 0830hrs for a 1030hrs appointment. This causes issues when I have arranged the appointment to fit around work because I cant wait around for a four hour period for a 10 minute phone call. The
Nurse Practicioners are great and the receptionist are really friendly. The receptionists go out of their way to help, e.g. ringing you back when appointments become available.

Staff at the surgery are always polite

We are fortunate that our GP surgery is very small. Since moving to the area, the availability of our GP has reduced. We have to phone at 8am prompt to get an appointment or we are referred to the walk in at Katie Road. Staff at the surgery are always polite. Having used another surgery for maternity services I realised how good our surgery was. It's clear more funding is needed as availability for appointments for extras such as blood is only available one month in advance.

Extremely Poor.

I had breathing problems , i had to Call Ambulance. Next morning my wife called for an appointment and they rejected. I called them again, and they even didn't asked why i called, said No straight away. I booked an appointment for asthma test, i went there after 2 weeks wait for test and they told me they booked me a Blood test not asthma test. Again i got a test after 2 weeks.

Dear Patient,
Thank you for your comments which are much appreciated.
After speaking with reception we cannot establish why you wife was turned away for an appointment. We always ask the reason for the appt and our patients are notified that this is the case when the join the practice and there are also posters that identify this. The only reason for rejection may have been due to reception triaging the appointment to refer your wife to the appropriate service.

Our nursing appointments are available for up to two weeks, some chronic disease patients are asked to undertake a blood test before their actual review.

We apologies if we have offended you in any way and hope that we can work together to improve our service and our relationship with you.

Difficult to get an appointment

Book an appointment at 8.00am or have to wait until 12.00pm to get an afternoon appointment via phone. Once get through the system GP service is fine, locum pays most attention.

Dear Carol,

Many thanks for your response we appreciate your comments and find these invaluable.

With regard to the practice access system that is currently in place. You should be able to pre-book your appointment two weeks in advance? There should be plenty of available pre-bookable appointments? I would really appreciate if you could notify me if there aren't? Hopefully this would save you having to book on the day for an urgent appointment.

We currently have two employed GPs and a Nurse Practitioner. Dr Caroline Loane, Dr Kazeem Olagoke and Jackie Wallis. I suspect you may be referring to Dr Olagoke? Again would be really keen to establish which GP you find pays the most attention?
