The doctors are no longer seeing patients

February 5, 2021
The drs are no longer seeing patients yet the receptionists send out texts to make appointments, but you only get to speak to a triage nurse, who doesn’t look at your records. I have really bad piles and consequently have to take dolculax every day, I have been having the capsules for more years than I can remember, then they got that bad with bleeding I had to have extra help with suppositories and extra laxatives which my gp gave me on prescription (I’m 68). But when I asked for a repeat prescription, I was told by the triage nurse that I would have to purchase these from the chemist has the drs no longer prescribed laxatives on prescription
Funny, I still get my repeat every month and guess what yes I have 100 dolculax capsules. I really don’t get it, I could really do with seeing a gp face to face for them to let me know that I haven’t got anything underlying had I’ve been suffering for over 12 months now.

No issues

No issues although they don’t fully understand my condition. It’s like you are under mental health services so it’s not our concern. They also look at me like this because I am 17 and should be able to take care and deal with things myself.

The appointment system is not good, as it can take weeks to see a doctor / staff also not helpful.

Sincere Thanks

Although this is an extremely busy surgery I have always been able to get an appointment in a timely manner when necessary. Receptionists are pleasant and helpful despite being in the firing line for patients frustrations when dealing with an underfunded and over stretched sector. Recently my mother was diagnosed with cancer of the gullet, immediately after diagnosis I contacted her GP to arrange an appointment. A chance encounter at the surgery led to the Doctor visiting my mother at home. The support emotionally this gave was outstanding and above and beyond, of which I cannot thank him enough, this visit went a long way in supporting the family and bringing my mother some comfort emotionally. Thank you so much for taking time in a job that is so demanding and faces so much negative feedback at times. I will never forget the act of kindness and the impact it has had on my mother.

Misdiagnosed my mum's throat cancer

Misdiagnosed my mum's throat cancer as glandular fever without doing any blood tests!
You can't get GP appointments very easily and you have to wait 3/4 weeks for blood tests.
