Can't get a GP appointment

August 21, 2017
We were told by a consultant to get an appointment with the GP to get results. We have been waiting 3 weeks to get an appointment, and we are still waiting. They couldn't give us an appointment within 3 weeks. Told to call at 10:00am but then you can't get through on the phone and you are waiting.

Never any appointments

There are never any appointments and the waiting times are too much. They are very comforting and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback.
We offer appointments at different levels. We have appointments available to book in advance, on line access, book on the day, telephone triage and emergency appointments. We are also part of a federation and can sometimes offer an appointment at West Heath Surgery. We do our very best to accommodate everyone but sometimes this is not possible due to demand and capacity. The amount of appointments that we have at the surgery is also higher than the national average. Sometimes it may just be that we cannot offer an appointment that is convenient to the patient rather than not being offered one at all. However we fully understand any frustrations that patients may have when trying to pre book an appointment,

Delay in review appointment

August 2, 2016
Recently I received a notice from the Medical Centre asking me to make an appointment for a medication review. When I phoned the Medical Centre to get an appointment the only appointment they offered me was just over four weeks away. During my visit to the GP, I mentioned the time delay between the telephone call and the appointment date, to which he replied that 'it was down to funding.'

At the age of 80 years old, time delays of this magnitude are frightening.

Thank you for your feedback.
Although waiting 4 weeks for a medication review seems unreasonable, due to capacity and demand issues we have to prioritise and deal with more urgent cases first. We do our very best to accommodate all of our patients and aim to get them seen in a satisfactory time frame.
Please accept our apologies if you feel that this was not the case.
Regards,
DR Lawrence & Partners.

Rude staff. Poor booking system. Long waiting

May 27, 2016
Find most reception staff very rude and unhelpful, they are inpatient and inconsiderate in the way they take calls & have upset me at times when I'm feeling unwell on a number of occasions. I've found only one or two staff who are an exception to this.
Booking system is very frustrating and waiting times are always long.
GP's have mainly been very good once you finally get to see them.

Hi,
Thank you for your comments and feedback.
I am very sorry that you feel this way and can only apologise if you have had a bad experience whilst visiting or communicating with Hollymoor. I am always happy to speak to patients and address any issues that they may have at that time. This is sometimes essential and enables me to deal with the incident immediately. I take your comments on board and will act accordingly If I witness any member of staff being rude or unhelpful to any of our visitors, patients or any outside provider.
Unfortunately I cannot change the demand and capacity issue that we are experiencing with appointments, we currently offer higher than the national average. Demand is currently at its highest, however we do try to accommodate all of our patients.

awful.

I usually have a wait of roughly twenty mins- one hour to be seen by a doctor. Today I waited for THREE and a quarter hours! I walked to the surgery especially at 7am to guarantee an appointment and still had to wait for three hours whilst others were seen effectively immediately and it was as though I was forgotton about.
