Staff good and helpful

This is my 5th visit since 2004, things have improved a lot in last 14 years, apart from parking which has gone worse. Staff is good and helpful and this ADCU is very welcoming though over congested.

Overall a pleasant hospital

Extremely pleasant staff. Kept informed at all times. Could do with a vending machine for drinks and snacks for visitors. Car parking is a bit costly. Overall though a pleasant hospital.

Waiting room comfortable

We found the waiting room to be comfortable with nice chairs. The downside was no vending machines.

My other half is here today for a day appointment, we have travelled from Darwen and appreciate that we have access to a specialist hospital for the care he needs.

The staff we have had contact with so far have been great - helpful, cheerful and welcoming.

The waiting room is busy, but happy to wait because of the specialism.

Everyone seems to be in good spirits.

Place good but difficult to park

This place is good, but very difficult to find parking. They need more parking and especially disabled parking.

Like the notice screen

I find this hospital much better than other hospitals. I like the notice screen, it has got visual and sound effects both help you to notice your name when they call you.

Support given but waiting time long sometimes

Live TV keeps you busy, seating is good, the only thing is sometimes you have to wait for long time. There is always someone at reception or check in point to help and guide. I am a cancer patient but full support is given to me all the time.

Long waiting times.

In January 2018, I was nil by mouth, arrived at 7am and had to wait until 4pm. The chairs were really uncomfortable because of pain from the operation in my hips. The receptionist was quite verbally aggressive in the way she treated me, she didn't want to deal with my questions.

In October 2018, was also nil by mouth and arrived at 7am and had to wait until 2.30pm. The receptionist was the same one, and she didn't want to respond to me.

Information and support is good.

The information and support is good plus all the basic facilities are provided. So overall I will give an A grade to this waiting area and hospital. Only thing I would suggest is more wheelchairs and manned help for elderly and poorly patients.
