excellent

I would recommend serenity and a pool birth to anyone. Staff were fantastic. They are very relaxed which helps you and the rooms are very relaxing also with star lights. They are very hands of and leave your body to work naturally. I was checked once and that's when I first arrived. Having a water birth was amazing. The midwifes talk you through what to do and how to breathe. When my baby was born I was the first one to hold him and they left him on me for a good 40 minutes where ad with my first birth at good hope my baby was taken straight of me. Overall as far as labour goes it was perfect
Very good

I had a sudden change of vision in one eye so went to get it checked out. From registration to discharge I was there for approx. 2 1/2 hours. Given a thorough check over by Mohammed who was very professional and friendly.
Poor explanation and worrying news
April 9, 2014
I wear glasses and contact lens. Visual fields have been tested for a few year. Consultant said that on the next visit they would do MIR scan to rule out brain tumour... News with no prior warning or further explanation. App set for 3 months. Called when app letter had no arrived (as worried) not very helpful staff told me to wait. Letter arrived nearly 4 months. Decided to wear contact lens as I kept saying I couldn't see the test as short sighted. Next test- miraculous better! Disappointed by test and lack of sense. Not to mention 3-4 months of anxiety!
Thorough and efficient

Would massively like to praise the staff at City for an excellent experience today. My husband and I would like to offer massive thanks to the very impressive Dr Fenn, who was kind, thorough and made me feel very safe.
Late night emergency admittance
April 1, 2014
I was admitted by emergency ambulance late on 28th March, through A&E minors where I was well looked after by Geraldine and her colleagues then up to Surgical Assessment at 3am where Joe took control and made me feel welcome. The day team of Esther and her team were first class, very reassuring, friendly and professional and monitored everything till discharge on that Friday evening. A sudden and worrying event dealt with care, kindness and good humour - with a positive end result
A shambles

The staff are so rude no manners. I asked the dr a question and he told me the biggest lie you can think and knowing I have paid for NHS all my life and never used them and when I do they tell me that the treatment is very costly therefore we will not be doing the treatment what a fars

Mother taken to Hospital after passing out!
March 23, 2014
My mother was taken to Birmingham City Hospital on 21/3 at 9.00pm by ambulance, Could not fault
her care by all the Staff on Duty in the A&E department Credit to Dr Henry Wotton, and also
the nurses on duty that evening. I noticed how hard working all your staff are, especially at a stressful and busy time of the night. They carried out their duties with efficiency and a caring attitude.
and thankfully my mother was allowed home after extensive tests had been completed.

Our first visit to the hospital and found all the staff, from the porter who returned a borrowed wheelchair in the rain to the unknown person who took us to the lift so we could access Millers restaurant, were polite, kind and thoughtful. Appointment and waiting times no problem. Only negative is signposting, especially from the car park to the main hospital entrance!
