10 hour A&E wait and disrespectful attitudes
Hospital services – not stated
February 5, 2025
I waited for 10 hours in A&E at the new hospital. After I went again following a GP appointment who told me to go back to the hospital where I waited another 9 hours and saw the same doctor as before. I got a satisfactory service once seen. They did an ECG but there was lack of communication and a demeaning and disrespectful attitude by them.

Poor care, lack of communication, long waiting times, litter all over waiting room. Rude staff
Not impressed

The layout is extremely confusing and very poorly thought out. Certainly not great for elderly or disabled and even the staff and volunteers don't know their way around. A&E there should be a limit to how many people accompany patients as it's very crowded. IPC If you're going to wear a mask wear it properly-most staff walking around with them under the chin. Ban nursing staff from false long nails - basic standards not met
Lack of compassion and empathy

None of the doctors or nurses have any compassion or empathy nothings recording nobody knows nothing nobody helps they ask you what you want them to do they need extra training as they have no idea about treatments they have no manners it's disgusting down there you don't feel safe
Not enough staff and things working

It's £5.90 for 24 hours parking here or only £20 for the week, so its cheaper than the QE. Why so different. Its new but there are a lot of things not working here, the lifts aren't working and there are lots of issues. The staff are not organised and don't know what their doing. The rooms are nice but there aren't enough staff, they work hard but they are all under pressure, it's a hard job.
They were good

They were good when I was here in December. They explained everything to me and it didn't take long.

I was seen around 5 times before I actually saw the doctor
But that took a whole 11 hours and a bit from 7pm till 7am ish
But then didn't give me anything for my pain, I'd have happily paid but nah he just suggest he only had paracetamol so I just took the ones they gave me which was 2 tablets they asked if I can stay and do a brain scan also but no I would not be willing to wait another 11 hours

I went in at 6pm on Tuesday and got out at 9:30 am Wednesday morning. It's a disaster, I was left for a while. The system is bad man. They are so badly run, it's terrible.

My husband went there a few days ago and it was jam packed. He waited 6 hours to see a nurse. No planning at all. They need more staff.
