Terrible
October 14, 2025
The lifts are terrible. They broke down. No one cares at all, no one helps. It's terrible there.
Everyone is nice and the care is okay
Inpatient care/General inpatients

Good, been here since Saturday. Can't complain, everyone is nice and the care is okay.
The care was good
October 14, 2025
My son was in here after breaking his leg and had to have surgery. He was here for 5 days. The care is good, I can't fault it. When he went to theatre they asked him to swivel and move beds but I had to tell them he couldn't because he had a broken leg. It can be hard to navigate. Even people working the around the hospital get lost.
The hospital is challenging
October 14, 2025
Challenging. Signage and floor layouts are confusing. Audio in lifts isn't available so I didn't know what floor I was on as I have a visual impairment. The volunteers are a positive though, they go above and beyond. They have good training. A staff member told me where the department I wanted was. Why do I need to go to floor 5 for reception.
Great staff
General outpatients and hospital-based consults
October 14, 2025
I was still trying to find my way around. I was sent for a special scan from the hospitals I use elsewhere as they don't scan anywhere else. Communication is very good. The size of the hospital intimidates me but the people have been great.
Always on time
General outpatients and hospital-based consults

They work long hours and take risks. They need more money. They helped my family with medication. Appointments are always on time.
Horrible
General outpatients and hospital-based consults

Horrible. There is no reception there to call you a taxi. I had an MRI 8 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the results.
Everyone is helpful at A&E
Emergency department (including A&E)

I go to A&E when I'm in too much pain and everyone that greets you there is helpful. They send letters to my GP after my visit to get a physio too.
Very caring at maternity
Maternity care

It's a good hospital. I stayed on the maternity ward for 2 days and they were very caring.
I was readmitted
October 7, 2025
I was readmitted after discharge as I wasn't well and the police weren't happy with how I looked and how I had been treated. They gave me Oramorph and the nurse seemed annoyed that I had asked her to put patches on my back for pain too. I then waited for hours and hours to be seen by the homeless team. They gave me a food hamper, booked me a taxi and sorted me some accommodation within the hour. They lost my triage paperwork too. No help from the staff there.
