I went to A&E and they saw me straight away and checked me over. They saw how bad I was and they helped me very quickly.

I took my 2 year old to the A&E the week it opened and waited for 10 hours. The staff were good but the system is a shambles and they didn't even have a baby changing area.
A&E for over 14 hrs; horrible rude staff

Partner was in for a suspected blood clot and meniscus tear after being referred by both GP and Sandwell UTC. Were in there for over 14 hrs, the nurses and reception staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. One of the nurses actually barged into my partners leg (the one they knew was injured already) while she was sat on the floor where they’d left her. This was coincidentally about 30 seconds after we had complained about the treatment of the nurses. She then had the audacity to huff at us as if it were our fault without an apology. When we tried to tell another member of staff about this, we were told that because we couldn’t name the nurse who did this by name that they couldn’t do anything and we shouldn’t wait where we’re in the way. Even though we were waiting where she’d previously told us to wait.
Aside from this, all the nurses and staff were very rude, disrespectful and quite entitled and arrogant during the whole ordeal. It’s disgusting that these people are paid through peoples taxes yet they treat and speak taxpayers like they’re subhuman. Travesty of a hospital, every A&E nurse and receptionist working on 21/02/25-22/02/25 should be ashamed of themselves.

My son was admitted with pneumonia and sepsis the staff are rude and not interested. One nurse came in to give medication and didn’t even know what he was being treated for and had music playing through her phone in her pocket! Another nurse clearly had no clue about infection room control walking in and out seeing sick patients with fleece on and headphone in one ear. As a nurse myself I’m absolutely appalled by the care and delivery in this hospital. You don’t get medication on time it’s 2 hours after it’s due, left crying In pain and they just sit there!
My son is also asthmatic and has been asking for his nebuliser since 11pm last night.
Another incident my son was almost a victim of a drug error she was about to him a second dose of a drug he had been given 10 minutes prior as the previous nurse hadn’t signed off the dose.
I will be making a complaint about the whole experience.
It’s clearly not able to keep up with the huge demands with very little staff.

Patients smoking outside main entrance

Directly outside the main entrance I was 'greeted' by two patients in dressing gowns smoking next to a sign stating that this was a no smoking hospital and they would be fined £50. As went I out of the Main Entrance I went to get a cup of coffee so I decide to go into Costa (Crumbles). Tables were outside and there was a large welcoming floor banner. When I tried to open the door it was locked, but there was no sign on the door stating it was going to be closed. Then a few yards from Costa there were 6 patients smoking. When I asked them to stop they told me I wasn't the law and to 'eff' off. There was no security to be seen. I emailed the Head of Security on 14th January and now it is the 5th February and I'm still waiting for a reply.
10 hour A&E wait and disrespectful attitudes

I waited for 10 hours in A&E at the new hospital. After I went again following a GP appointment who told me to go back to the hospital where I waited another 9 hours and saw the same doctor as before. I got a satisfactory service once seen. They did an ECG but there was lack of communication and a demeaning and disrespectful attitude by them.

The layout is extremely confusing and very poorly thought out. Certainly not great for elderly or disabled and even the staff and volunteers don't know their way around. A&E there should be a limit to how many people accompany patients as it's very crowded. IPC If you're going to wear a mask wear it properly-most staff walking around with them under the chin. Ban nursing staff from false long nails - basic standards not met
