Want to make a real difference to local health and social care?

Healthwatch Birmingham and Healthwatch Solihull believe everyone deserves the best possible care. We fight health inequalities by giving people a voice in improving the health and social care services they use, and work with services to ensure long-lasting benefits for patients. We have recently supported members of the Somali community, young people with mental health issues and people with visual impairments to call for change, and are working with NHS services to improve access to GPs and NHS dentists for everyone in the region. We also run an Information and Signposting service helping people to find the best care and support they need for their personal situation.

Non-Executive Directors – Healthwatch Birmingham and Healthwatch Solihull

With Healthwatch Birmingham and Healthwatch Solihull reaching more people and having more impact each year, we’re looking for new Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and guide us through the next stages of our development. It’s a challenging but exciting time for local health and social care services as they recover from the pandemic, with opportunities to tackle some of the long-standing health inequalities that affect the region’s most vulnerable people.

Healthwatch Birmingham and Healthwatch Solihull is completely independent of the NHS and social care services, and is recognised and respected for representing the public voice in local health and social care. We are determined to constantly innovate and increase our reach even further into diverse communities to hear what everyone has to say, and need a Board with a wide range of backgrounds and experience to help us achieve this.

We are currently looking for Non-Executive Directors with finance and audit expertise. Healthwatch Birmingham and Healthwatch Solihull Non-Executive Directors are voluntary roles. The organisation will reimburse you for reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred in carrying out your duties.
