Good but a long winded process

September 26, 2025
Overall I was happy with the service because I did eventually get a GP appointment with the help of NHS 111, but there is room for improvement. The system is very long winded and it took three separate phone calls to NHS 111 before I got the help I needed.

Good service and website is a good alternativ

September 18, 2025
The website is ideal for people who don't want to make a call. I have called them in the past though and they were good. They sent out an ambulance straight away.

Brilliant advice

They were brilliant, I can't fault them. They told us to go to A&E for a chest infection and sent a prescription through at the same time.

Very helpful, sometimes they tell you to wait which isn't good when you're worried about your child.

They wouldn't listen to me

July 29, 2025
I phone 111 on a Saturday when a rash appeared. They told me I would need to go to a clinic in Aston to be seen and given antivirals. I told them I couldn't get there and that the shingles was due to having leukaemia 18 month prior. They wouldn't listen so I had to wait for my GP on the Monday.

Not very good

July 22, 2025
Most of the time they send you to the hospital which is I don't bother to go to as I don't feel it's needed. So not very good.

They're no good

When my husband had bowel problems they weren't very good. They said to monitor him and they would call back, but they didn't. They're no good.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser. Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one. NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
