Not very good.

Not very good. They told my social worker who then told the whole family when I was having issues with my mental health.

Took a while to get through.

My daughter called them for me when it was late and I was feeling poorly. They did take a bit of time to answer but they were okay. They said to try the doctors in the morning if I hadn't improved and I did feel better but they were good.

You can't talk to them.

You can't really talk to them. They'll send an ambulance out or the police. I feel like with mental health you don't know where to go.

You can wait a long time.

If I have a problem I will call them if I need an answer to something. You can wait a long time for them to answer.

Lot less waiting time than GP

There's a bit of a wait but a lot less than the GP. They were helpful when I had covid symptoms. They told me to go straight to A&E so I did and I was helped.

Good and always help me.

They're good. Always helpful and help me with the children when I don't know what to do. They are very quick and a great support.

We rely on this service.

I resort to using these and they arrange an out of hours appointment with the GP. You'll speak to someone and they will arrange for a nurse, then they will call you back and arrange further care. We rely more on this service than our own GP.

It's a long wait.

I have used it. It's a long wait and especially when it's for a leg issue or eczema. You can't really use them for that.

Didn't wait too long.

I called when I had bad toothache. I couldn't get an appointment with my dentist so they ended up sending me to the dental hospital. I didn't wait too long for them to answer and they sent me to the right place.

Would rather use them

October 9, 2023
I would rather use them than my GP. Won't get through to the GP so better to use 111. They always refer onto another service that will be helpful to me. I use it for the kids as well.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser.

Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.

NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
