Rang at 7am for son having allergic reaction. Rang back at 4am didn’t answer. Don’t think they are a helpful service. Don’t tend to use them tbf.

Had to wait 3 hours

Had to wait 3 hours , got through eventually. They passed on to another doctor, diagnosed son over the phone on Monday. Then was seen by doctor who said he has tonsillitis and gave him medicines on Wednesday.

Get referred to service by GP

March 23, 2023
They're good and I often get referred from the GP practice due to lack of appointments. I've used this service for my 3 year old daughter and they do help. But I would rather see my own doctor straight away rather than going through them to get an appointment.

Appointment within 3 hours

Phoned 111 for Scarlett fever, they referred us to Katie road. They gave us an appointment within 3 hours. Had to wait 40 mins for doctor to call back after telling them my issue.

Good at directing us

March 23, 2023
Good at directing us to night place for treatment. We are often send to Katie Road which is out of the way but there is no walk in service close by, which is unhelpful.

Ring 111 and they will make an appointment to come to a clinic, It does take some time waiting but always felt like the service is helpful and staff are great.

They were good, they told me that a doctor would call me back and within a few hours they did. They helped me and explained things to me and kept me updated.

Short staffed

March 21, 2023
Called and they said an ambulance would come get me and then they said the ambulance was not coming. I think they were short staffed.

Wife had chest pains and they called an ambulance and they took her to hospital. They said it was just stress, but it was a good service.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser.

Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.

NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
