Quality of care is high
December 17, 2018
In comparison to other hospitals they are much better, quality of care is high and staff good.
Lack of parking

Hospital and staff are ok. But main issue is lack of park and disabled parking is very limited today. I was able to park half a mile away on Bristol Road and have walked from there, I'm in a bad shape and very angry.
Staff very good

I am coming here since last 4 years and found this place is up to mark and staff is very good. Last year I was hospitalised for few days over here and one thing I can say was worse was the food they service to patients - its pathetic.
Polite, helpful & Supportive Staff
Orthopaedics

My appointment was smoothly handled with each stage already signposted from registration to x-rays to consultation with consultant (review of hip problem). Letter to confirm follow up appointment arrived following day after appointment. Staff at each stage were polite, helpful and supportive (reception, radiographer, nursing staff and consultant)

Excellent care in all respects
Poor ongoing follow up limited information
June 12, 2017
1) Poor ongoing follow up
2) Limited information about options
3) Surgery presented as only option for scoliosis (idiopathic)
4)Poor surgery outcome/limited immediate improvement / poor long term benefit
5)Poor long term outcome - hospital unwilling to explore alternatives, constant response to deterioration, there is nothing else they can offer.

Ok, but waiting times are an issue

I have orthotics but the waiting times between getting new support shoes can be 6 or 12 weeks.
The consultant I saw, I was discussing with them the impact of flat feet on my hip. He referred me to physio but he didn't take too much notice when I was trying to explain

Really Good

Went to see the GP for steroid injections and they said the issue would go away. Eventually I went to the hospital and has physio. It was like a miracle, and I was taught to do some exercises at home which have helped.
much better experience than other hospitals
Paediatrics/children services

My daughter was in the teenage cancer trust ward for a hip operation. Excellent facility. Lovely staff. Good food and great provision for parents. A traumatic experience handled really well. Great joined up service with physio after discharge including delivery of equipment. The hydrotherapy and physio that continued after discharge all really good service and friendly staff.
Staff excellent but infection risk

Physio said do not enter hydro pool without waterproof plaster due to infection risk but no suitable plasters available.
