much better experience than other hospitals

Paediatrics/children services

My daughter was in the teenage cancer trust ward for a hip operation. Excellent facility. Lovely staff. Good food and great provision for parents. A traumatic experience handled really well. Great joined up service with physio after discharge including delivery of equipment. The hydrotherapy and physio that continued after discharge all really good service and friendly staff.

Physio said do not enter hydro pool without waterproof plaster due to infection risk but no suitable plasters available.

Thank you very much for your comment.

The Hydrotherapy Department do hold a supply of waterproof dressings if they are required by patients, as appropriate for their hydrotherapy treatment.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact PALS on 0121 685 4128.

I heard negative reports about the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in the press following the CQC rating of 'require improvement'. I have nothing but good things to say about the hospital, and was extremely surprised to hear anything negative. I am a regular patient both inpatient and outpatient and I think they are much more efficient than other hospitals that I have dealt with. I think that it’s excellent, right down to the food in the canteen.
The staff are great.
Whenever you see a specialist you get a copy of a letter that shows the recommendations and treatment plan to your GP.

Went into hospital at 6.30am but I was not seen until 12.30pm. However I was pleased with the result.

Waited 4 months for back clinic appointment

Waited 4 months until seen after Dr's referral. Once seen service was excellent. Disappointed that twice they called me to cancel appointment which delayed treatment.
