Very quick service
September 2, 2022
Very quick. I thought it'd take forever but we're in and out. The communication about the appointment has been good and we received letters. It's good.
I had a bad experience during operation

I had a bad experience during operation, the anaesthetist put the drip in wrong vein which caused complications. They should know what are they doing. Now I am transferred to QE hospital.

Appointment letter arrived after appointment
August 31, 2022
Original appointment was ridiculous and they said I had to go in. Nothing was sent to me in the post so I rang them and they told me my appointment was at 10:30 and to go to gate D, D for Delta. There was no gate D. When I got there, they said I was booked in for an X-ray at 10am. The appointment letter arrived in the post 2 days after my appointment. The service with the surgeon was quite good and I was referred to them quite quickly.
Upsettingly dire

Referred to surgeon as ‘urgent’ in Feb 2022, received an appointment letter in April to say that i was on the consultant waiting list. Called in June to discuss why no appointment date given, was told by the secretary that I wasn't on any waiting list. I spoke with the referring consultant who assured me that I was on a list and was surprised that I hadn’t heard anything. I had to have another very painful and invasive procedure done in the interim to try and alleviate my pain. Yet another phone call made to check on progress. Told again I wasn't on any list, until i mentioned my other consultant. I was suddenly ‘found’ but still no appointment given despite being even more ‘urgent’. Eventually, after speaking with the very rude appointment clerk who told me that i would lucky to see anyone before September. I called the secretary again and was given an appointment for the very end August (this was still in June). This was then cancelled and rescheduled for mid October. I then called PALS. Surprisingly an appointment was miraculously found for the following week mid August 2022. I then received a txt msg, email and a phone call, the day before the appointment to say it had been cancelled again. Eventually after much upset, i saw the consultant. Lets just say that the consultation went extremely badly. Im now not seeing anyone for anything whatsoever. Ive never felt so abandoned in my life. I will be taking this further i can promise them this. Appalling treatment by what i thought, was the best in the business.
Lack of communication

Up until about 2 months ago it was fine. My consultant left, I’m 20 weeks post operation and still haven’t been seen by anybody. I’ve been to hydrotherapy this morning and they managed to get me an appointment. Was meant to be seen at 1:30pm don’t know which consultant I am under. That’s if I am under one. Lack of communication in whole of hospital.
Lack of communication

Don’t know why my local doctors couldn’t see me. I contacted them a week before my appointment to say I couldn’t make it. They said I missed my appointment. The waiting times are long. Lack of communication , rang me yesterday to ask if I’d be attending my appointment. They should offer phone call consultations, video calls for those that don’t live locally.
No continuity or personalisation

Seen fast – which is good. Each time seen by different people. Doesn’t feel personal. Feels very disjointed. No continuity or personalisation of services. Though the consultations are good with staff.
