What would you like us to investigate?

March 23, 2016

Healthwatch Birmingham would like your help to select the topics that we will investigate over the next quarter.

One of our roles is to provide authoritative evidence-based feedback with those who commission, design and deliver health and social care services in Birmingham. We do this is by analysing our primary public and patient experience datasets and using findings, where relevant, to prompt a specific provider level or system level investigation with consequent reporting.
Healthwatch Birmingham would like your help to select the next possible themes for an investigation.  These themes are avoidable health inequities in health and social care that, if investigated, will deliver results sufficient to effect positive change.

We are asking key stakeholders to complete our brief online survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/V8Q26P5

About the survey
Last week Healthwatch Birmingham conducted a consensus exercise with members of the public, our Board and the staff team. In the meeting:

  • 197 potential avoidable health inequities reported by members of the public regarding their experience of health and social services in Birmingham were considered.
  • 10 were prioritised; the group believed that if investigated they could be used to drive service improvements across Birmingham’s health and care systems.

Taking the survey

  • When completing the survey please select three themes that you feel are most important for us to investigate further.
  • We hope you will be able to use the results of our investigations as a lever for service improvement. Your answers will be treated as confidential.
