How do I complain about a GP?
Complain to the surgery
As a first step, put the complaint in writing to the GP surgery’s practice manager. You can normally find their name and the surgery address on the surgery’s website.
Your complaint should be acknowledged within three working days, and you should also be told about the outcome of the investigation.
NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board
If you do not feel confident about the surgery’s complaints process, then you may wish to contact NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (NHS BSOL) to raise your concerns.
NHS BSOL is responsible for dealing with complaints about NHS primary care services like GPs, dentists, pharmacists and opticians and can be contacted on 0121 203 3313 or email bsol.patientexperience@nhs.net
