Complain to the surgery

As a first step, put the complaint in writing to the GP surgery’s practice manager. You can normally find their name and the surgery address on the surgery’s website.

Your complaint should be acknowledged within three working days, and you should also be told about the outcome of the investigation.

If you do not feel confident about the surgery’s complaints process, then you may wish to contact NHS England to raise your concerns.

If you feel you would benefit from the support of an advocate, please contact the Birmingham Advocacy Hub provided by POhWER.
