12 Days of Healthwatch Christmas
πππ² ππ βοΈ – Join us for a countdown to Christmas.
Keep an eye out each day for some of this year’s highlights, successes and people’s stories.
Day 11 βοΈ – How we listened to, and shared your experiences of lockdown.
Unfortunately 2021 began in lockdown due to COVID19. These were difficult times for many people and we wanted to ensure they had their say on how health and social care services responded to the pandemic.
Our joint report with Healthwatch Solihull highlighted several key issues and made a number of recommendations. You can read the full report here.
πππ² ππ βοΈ – What you told us about Primary Care.
This year we have continued to hear about peopleβs experiences of primary care.
You can read what others have said and leave a review on your surgery here
We are very grateful to have a great team of volunteers, this year they have helped us to continue our community engagement safely and gather peopleβs views.
One volunteer told us βI love meeting and chatting with new people. I find it fascinating with all the feedback we have and all communities are happy to share.β
πππ² π βοΈ – What you told us about mental health.
Although we have heard some positive experiences from Children and Young People, many have told us of the challenges they face when using services.
Challenges experienced are around assessments, care planning, waiting lists, diagnosis, poor treatment, poor medical insight and support, and lack of responsiveness to complaints.
Our Information & Signposting helped people to find new organisations & services for support, make complaints and much more.
Community is a huge part of our work and we couldnβt do it without people in Birmingham and Solihull. These are some of the ways you can get involved and help us to improve services.
