Good practice but not chosen GP
June 9, 2023
They're a good GP practice but it's not the GP surgery I wanted to register with.
Good service that prioritises children

Can get appointments, I call at 8am and can get an appointment with them. They do prioritise children, they're a good service.

I have no problems; they are very good with my children. I can get appointments when I need them, I get them immediately.
Prescribed wrong medication during pregnancy
November 10, 2022
I had high blood pressure and gestational diabetes and they gave me the wrong medication. I get ill with all my pregnancies and I went to the clinic quickly. I saw another doctor and asked them to change my medication and the doctor told me that I should not have taken that medication in pregnancy. I then changed GP surgery because of this and the GP there was not helping me. This GP told me it was the wrong medicine prescribed for pregnancy and changed it immediately when I was 4 months pregnant.
Hard to get appointments
November 10, 2022
So hard to get an appointment. My daughter has diabetes, and her machine was broken. They told me my daughter needs to go to Heartlands Hospital every day because the machine will not come in over a week. She is 4 years old. It's hard to get her medication. I feel like if you get sick, the system will finish you. I also went to them with problems with my pregnancy and they said they will not see me.

Very good practice. Doctors have good attitude towards patients. Explained to doctor how I have got to that point.

Blood tests results not given
January 15, 2020
I have an overactive thyroid and I had moved address and GP. I had some blood tests done and I was not told the right results and given medication.
Difficult to book an appointment & rude staff
November 19, 2018
I can never get an urgent appointment, it’s always given two weeks later. I feel that they are very disrespectful and don’t treat me well. For example for a blood test they used a rubber glove over my hand instead of proper equipment. I feel that there is a long waiting time and no check-ups. There is never enough time to get appropriate information and when I ask for it they just say that the appointment time is up. I feel that they just dismiss me. Because they don’t provide interpreters I feel I can’t always express myself properly and there isn’t enough time to be understood. They just give medication without examination. Once I came for ear check-up and the nurse put cold water in my ear to clean, but is caused an infection. The lady in the reception is very disrespectful and is not helpful when trying to book appointments. My mother, who is 73, gets no medical attention, even though she has an eye problem and high cholesterol.
Don't get the same support I used to
April 18, 2018
I have many health conditions and need regular support from the GP, including getting oxygen. I used to get regular home support from the practice nurse around once a month. Now the nurse had told me that service is no longer available and I have to call if I need help. The problem is that you can never get hold of the GP reception to get appointments. I've had to wait over two hours phoning, and still no answer. Then I have to go to the GP physically by bus, something in the dark and I struggle with all my conditions. It is very difficult for me to physically have to get to GP.
I am on a 100 tablets a day and I don't event know what half of them are for. That's because there's never enough time with the GP. I'm considering changing GP, but I'm not sure I should be after 40 years.
