I think they are short of staff at all levels

February 10, 2020
We came to triage at 10 am and still waiting to be seen it’s 1:30 pm, My wife is in pain but no doctor available, no information provided by reception staff. I think they are short of staff at all levels.

approach of clinical staff is very insensitive

Gynaecology

I have been a service user for many years under gynaecology. I feel the mannerism and approach of clinical staff is very insensitive. Having an illness which is of a very sensitive nature, the approach and listening skills of consultants and lead nursing staff are appalling. I have had several operations. On two occasions the operations that I was booked for, the consultants were not even aware of what surgery I was there for. Suffering from incontinence and having lost all confidence I just got passed from consultant to consultant and got spoken to quite rudely.

Patient care is good

January 21, 2020
Patient care is good. Sometimes things can take time in the outpatients department and so as a patient you must allocate extra time for your appointment. That aside the staff are delivering the highest level of care they are able to given the resources and time available. A greater increase in funding from central government would improve services across the trust.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to us, with regards to both the great standard of care you received, and the suggestion of increased funding from the government. We hope that we are always able to provide the high level of care that you have previously received, and appreciate that sometimes extra time must be allocated by our patients when they are waiting to be seen by us. We are always looking to improve our waiting times. We wish you all the best, and hope any visit you have with us continues to provide great care, Best Wishes, the Patient Experience Team.

Highly satisfied with treatment explanation

Highly satisfied with treatment explanation and waiting times. The only issue is we can’t see same doctor all the time. I came here four times and seen four different doctors.

Thank you for taking the time to share both positive and constructive feedback for our hospital. We are pleased to see you felt that your treatment explanation was clear, and that you felt the waiting times were satisfactory. We are conscious that patients sometimes see more than one doctor, pending on clinical availability and are keen to encourage continuity for you, if you would like to speak with a member of the PALS team regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us at bwc.pals@nhs.net alternatively, we will share your feedback with our Clinical Director to ensure they are aware of this issue.
