Right to Respond

As part of our commitment to providing an honest and transparent view of health and social care services, Healthwatch Birmingham encourages providers to respond to comments the public have left.

Alongside ensuring providers can have a fair say in discussions about their services, replying to reviews demonstrates evidence of responding to patient feedback for the CQC, who regularly monitor our Feedback Centre. It is also an effective way to recruit service users for any wider engagement work at your organisation.

Guidelines for provider responses:

  • Keep language appropriate and civil
  • Remain professional and treat people’s comments fairly
  • Engage with the content of the review by addressing specific points and avoid cut and pasting a standard response
  • Don’t disclose the service user’s personal details or any potentially identifying information
  • Where appropriate leave organisational contact details e.g PALS or patient engagement teams for people to get further information

Remember: your response will be seen by everyone who uses the Feedback Centre, not just the original reviewer. All responses are moderated in accordance with our moderation policy.

Professional service with same day results

I've been having ongoing symptoms which my GP was not sure about. I was referred to the NHS sexual health clinic but the appointments was too far away so I decided to look for a private alternative. I came across Clarewell Clinics and decided to go there because of their positive google reviews - it was very much worth it! I was lucky enough to get an appointment on the same day and was seen by a very friendly and professional doctor. He listened patiently and discussed my symptoms with me in great detail so I received a full understanding of what was happening to me - something that no one else had taken the time to do. He then recommended what tests I needed and discouraged me from having unnecessary tests. With the results on the same day (approx. 2 and a half hors) I was found positive for Trichomonas and given treatment on the same day with explanation of what I needed to do next. I'm very grateful for their service and staying late until 8pm for me. I highly, highly recommend anyone who has been fobbed of by the NHS to visit this clinic. It does cost a bit of money, but it is worth being able to move on with your life. Thank you everyone at Clarewell Clinics who made this experience as easy and simple as possible!!!
