Sent me straight to hospital

November 6, 2023
They took one look at me here and sent me straight to hospital. They closed down Badger and relocated to Solihull, expecting everyone to go there. I ended up in Heartlands hospital

The drive through clinic is good.

They are good. I get the care I need. They prescribe medication that I need. It's a bit weird to drive through but it's good.

They were alright

Saw team a month ago. They were alright, got confused as receptionist booked me in as an A&E patient so I was waiting a little while. GP referred me straight on to them, so that was good.

Bit of the way out have to drive there, 20 minutes’ drive, needed antibiotics and I got them for her and couldn’t get through to GP, but they were very good. There are long waits.

Checked daughter out and gave antibiotics

The doctors weren't answering, so took my daughter to there. My daughter was checked out. They gave my 5 year old antibiotics and at least the treatment was started on time.

Didn't find them helpful

Got sent to here after attending the Queen Elizabeth with an allergic reaction to my eye. Didn't find them very helpful. I was sent all over the place.

Helpful

They operate late on the night. I can book an appointment online. But you drive up, park up, they direct you to a cubicle and you can see someone face to face. It's been helpful sometimes, with my asthma if it's bad they will send me to A&E.

Very helpful and reassuring

March 7, 2018
Attended a badger clinic at a surgery in Selly Park on a Sunday after phoning them and being sent there. Was seen very quickly and treated well. Staff were very thorough and reassuring. I didn't want to go to A&E, so they did what they could to treat me, and I agreed if I got worse I would go to hospital. As I was very unwell, and they knew I lived alone, Dr actually phoned me later that night to check on me and see if I had got worse. It was very kind of her to do so.

Badger - Glover Street

The Badger Out-Of-Hours (OOHs) GP service currently covers Birmingham and Solihull and normally operates 6.30pm to 8am Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Participating members leave an answer-phone message on their practice phone or arrange a call divert when their practice is closed. This invites patients needing medical attention to ring the Badger call centre. Incoming calls are logged onto a computer system before being put through to a clinician for assessment.
