Good Staff / difficult to get an appointment
February 28, 2019
The nursing staff and GPs at this practice are very good. However, the major problem is getting an appointment with GP. On-Line appointments are very limited and usually about 2 weeks in advance. For an urgent appointment, one is told to phone up on the day at 8am but by 8:05 all the appointments for the day have gone and also one has to wait on phone for 20 minutes before it’s answered. The surgery is now offering limited appointments at weekends, but on Sundays they are in south Birmingham, several miles away.
Didn't know entitled to interpreter
February 4, 2019
I am deaf. Didn't know I could have interpreter as didn't know I was entitled to any lip speaker. Sat left out, communication breakdown, was not aware of support I could have for communication. Better to have had a lip speaker to spoken clearly and slowly so I could lip read person who was talking to me. So I could communicate with so there's need not be any communication barriers as it puts me off from going. Intercom I cannot hear from an intercom or when I'm called as it's really difficult what makes it worse when there's too much noise, it's mentally exhausting when try to listen but miss out of appointments. Makes you feel quite isolated.Very noisy too much noise.
Receptionists good, overall service poor
February 21, 2018
The receptionists are good, but the overall service is poor.
In the Midland Medical Partnership there is about 97 doctors so whenever you go you will not see the same doctor. It is very difficult to set an appointment, you have to call at 8am, but you may not get through. If you want to see a specific doctor the waiting time is weeks and weeks. If you access any doctor it will take 3 weeks. As a result neither myself or my husband use the GP anymore. We try to survive with natural therapies. The appointment time is so short it's impossible to be able to truly discuss the issue.
