The celebtation of my mother's 100th birthday
Yesterday, was my mother's 100th birthday. She is a resident at the Perry Tree Centre, Kingstanding, Birmingham. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the staff there who took the time and effort to help us celebrate this momentous occasion. The staff, led by the manager dressed up their day room for the celebrations, provided a buffet and gathered there with us, her family. They took the time to ensure that her achievement was fully recognised. I know that at least two members of the care staff actually gave up their day off to help get my mother ready for her 'Big Day', and to help celebrate it with her. My mother has late stage mixed dementia, and has been bedridden now since before the Covid19 pandemic took us into lockdown. She has been a resident at the Perry Tree Centre now for just over 5 years, and I cannot thank them enough for the continuing care and affection my mother has received from all who help look after her. They have, without doubt, prolonged her life and made these last years far more comfortable for her
