Discharges patients who are very unwell

February 12, 2024
Was seen by liaison around 4 times in a two week window each time more unwell than the last and in psychosis, each time they lied on my notes and said there was ‘no risk’ and discharging me with support that couldn’t keep me safe. Lied on my notes and said the person who I said let me be abused as a child was ‘a strong support network’ such a joke especially as the young male Liaison saw me each time and recognised me but again said I was no risk despite him seeing me 3 times in a two week period and being told by the doctor the only way I survived was because I was classed as overweight and I metabolised it better than someone smaller,
They don’t care about us

The consultant that saw me,refused to help me

November 29, 2019
I saw a consultant, at Heartland's RAID team in the early morning, I expected help from the service as they were quite helpful back in 2017, when I had a previous mental health crisis, but this time round, I got the shock of my life, when the woman I saw, who was suppose to offer me help, instead, became quite rude and unprofessional towards my crisis, in fact, she didn't seem to care that she was turning me away and putting me at risk even more, when she flat out refused to help me in any way, I should have been offered PDU or some help with medication ,which is what I got last time from RAID, in 2017, there was no compassion from this woman, and it reminds me of the time, of how my father was messed about by RAID, in 2016, when they refused to help him. And only later on changed their minds, when he attempted to take his life, so I have shown clearly that this RAID service can apologise all they want to me like they did before with my father, but the fact of the matter is, the RAID service is failing people like me and others with severe mental health issues, and unless the management improves the service, in the areas that the service is located, and regulates the staff to treat people like myself and others with respect and give them the help that they desperately need, then I'm sorry but as far as I'm concerned, I will be discussing your continuous failures with PALS later on, and if I have to get the CQC involved, to get a better service running, then so be it, that is easy for me, because your staff should have thought about helping me in my time of need, instead of being reckless and incompetent.

A nurse in RAID refused to assess or treat me

March 7, 2019
I was suffering severely with anxiety and insomnia after being refused help from CMHT I went to RAID at City Hospital. The nurse refused to assess me, she dismissed the fact that I was worried about my mental health and physical health through lack of sleep. I have had bad bouts like this before and had spent weeks applying for people's title plans and deeds on my street. Had started a hate campaign against neighbours who I have always got along with reporting them for moving fences and chopping a tree down. I am so horrified by my actions, but my GP, the CMHT and this nurse all failed to help me at a time that I desperately needed it. To be going through anxiety and having to beg for help to sleep is bad enough as it is, but to treated the way this nurse treated me in A and E is similar to another treatment I had in the hospital. From what I can gather she is supposed to be a mental health nurse, so she should recognise anxiety and know the risks lack of sleep would have on me.
But after another terrible experience in A and E and applying for my medical records, it appears she had me down as 'clearly seeking benzos' I'm sure my bank statement and my mounds of neighbours title plans,, reports to the council and fire service will show a very different picture when. My medical history will also show that I am not a benzo seeker at all, I have had 1 prescription of diazepam in my life and 1 lorozopam and 1 diazepam in the accident and emergency dept when I have been in total despair. I'm sorry if I don't fit the picture of someone who is worthy of mental health care when I desperately need it, I'm sorry that I even need to ask for help, but this nurse along with the others mentioned above have left me feeling that I am a liar who has nothing better to do with my life than sit in accident and emergency for 1 pill to try and calm me down and go to sleep.

I had been to the RAID team previously and the staff were very nice and didn't tell me they were setting boundaries as this nurse did.
