The only one who would treat me.
January 22, 2024
I have come up from Cornwall to be treated or I would have died. I can't tell you how hard it was to get seen. I called the consultant and he was the only one who would take it out as I got blood poisoning from non metal hip joints that had been done elsewhere. We have had to spend £2k of our funeral plan money on train and hotel costs whilst having treatment in Birmingham because nowhere in Cornwall offers the treatment. I've spoken to PALS at my local hospital but they were no help.
A great service.

This hospital is outstanding. I had a hip replacement and received wonderful treatment from all the staff involved. Thank you.
New appointment booking system is awful
January 22, 2024
Appointment booking here is awful. Three consecutive times I've been told that my next appointment would be sent it me in 4 months time. 3 times it wasn't sent and 3 times I had to contact PALS to get an appointment. Apparently the appointment system has changed. Change it back because the system isn't working.
Friendly, reassuring and explained well.

The receptionist I was met with had a friendly face and I had a reasonable waiting time. The consultant was very friendly, very reassuring, he put me at ease. Everything was explained to me thoroughly.

Excellent hospital with very good staff. Both my knee replacements were done over there.
Referred here from the QE

They were okay. I was referred onto them after my fall from the QE. They said I would need to be seen and assessed at the Satellite clinic for further appointments.
They don't give good advice

When they asked us to go last week. We waited and they said I needed seamless socks but I can't walk as my feet are curled in. I don't think they give good advice.
