Husband in hospital for almost 3 months
Following a hip replacement my husband has been in West Heath for almost 3 months. It is a wonderful place. The staff are very kind and caring. The staffing is very stable, very rarely are there agency staff. Great continuity of care. They make time to spend with the patients and they get to know them really well. The place is set up as a stepping stone towards home, and so is as homely as a hospital can be, with a day room for meals and a sitting room for watching TV. All the patients are dressed in day clothes for the day and changed into nightwear for sleep. My husband has enjoyed the meals, which are served course by course, rather than all together on a tray. My husband had a second fall, fracturing his other hip. All through this his care has been excellent and I have been kept fully informed.
