Patients asked for views on proposal to close Cheddar Road Surgery

November 20, 2018

From Birmingham and Solihull CCG.
Patients of Summerfield Family Practice are being asked for their views on a proposal to close an under used branch surgery which sees around four patients per week.
Currently GPs and practice staff travel daily between the main practice which is based at Summerfield Primary Care Centre and Cheddar Road Surgery, which is around 3.8 miles away.
With the majority of its 1,700 patients choosing to book their appointments at the main surgery, along with the significant investment needed to improve facilities for patients at the branch site which is based inside a terraced house, the practice is holding two drop-in sessions to talk to patients about the proposal.

  • Thursday 22 November 2018, 1-2pm: Cheddar Road Surgery, 55 Cheddar Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, B12 9LJ
  • Thursday 22 November 2018, 5-6pm: Cheddar Road Surgery, 55 Cheddar Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, B12 9LJ.

Patients can also give their views on the proposal by filling in an online survey at https://bit.ly/2PNnme1 which is available in paper format from reception at both the main and branch surgery sites. The closing date for responses is 30 November 2018.
Those unable to attend one of the drop-in sessions, but who wish to talk to someone about the proposal, can speak to the practice reception or call NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group’s Primary Care Team on 0121 203 3347 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).
