Healthwatch England Chair and new National Director announced

Healthwatch England and the Care Quality Commission has announced that Jane Mordue has been appointed as Chair of Healthwatch England.

Jane has held this position on an interim basis since December 2015 and has been a committee member of Healthwatch England since 2012. Her former experience includes being the Deputy Chair of Citizens Advice and the Vice Chair of the Gangmasters’ Licensing Authority. Jane will serve for two years and will also continue to sit on the Board of the Care Quality Commission.

Healthwatch England have also announced the appointment of a new National Director

In her first act as permanent Chair of patient champion Healthwatch England, Jane Mordue has announced that Imelda Redmond is to take up the role of National Director from the 9th January 2017.
Imelda comes to Healthwatch England with 20 years’ experience working in senior roles in the not-for-profit sector. Previous positions include CEO of the charity 4Children as well as Director of Policy and Public Affairs at Marie Curie Cancer Care. She was also Chief Executive of Carers UK for over a decade where she received a CBE for her services to disadvantaged people. Imelda has also held a number of non-executive positions within the health, government and charity sectors.
