Help to improve cardiac rehabilitation services

June 6, 2022
Cardiac rehabilitation is a programme of exercise, education, and psychological support. It has been shown to:

  • Reduce hospital admissions
  • Reduce the number of cardiovascular disease related deaths
  • Reduce the risk of further cardiovascular events
  • Improve quality of life
Nationally, only half of all patients eligible for this service access it. There are many reasons for this, and NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group, along with other NHS partners are keen to understand why, to support patients to access and complete these programmes in a way that is most suitable for them.
