Several Different Doctors and all on the ball

March 30, 2023
I have different medical conditions, which are managed by Drs with specialisms in those areas. It can be difficult getting an appointment but there is always call back or online. There have been issues with repeat prescriptions but after I made an online complaint, this was resolved. I have also spoken to several receptionists and found them to be helpful and compassionate. During a family trauma last year - everyone was helpful and the GPs worked with us to bring things back to an even Keel.

Hi Sandra
Thank you for the 5 stars!
I’m happy to read that you are pleased with the GP’s management of your conditions. Many of the GP’s will have an area that they specialise in, along with the GP’s there are the added benefits of a Physiotherapist, a number of Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Pharmacists and even a Social Prescriber – giving our patients access to a whole team of experts.

I’m please the issue with your prescriptions has now been resolved, we have a dedicated team of prescription Clerks who work hard on ensuring repeats are issued on time.

Thank you for also giving recognition to our reception staff, they each have a role in keeping the surgery running as smooth as possible, they are highly knowledgeable and have excellent problem-solving skills, which saves so much precious time for both medical staff and patients.

I will ensure all the team at CG are aware of your lovely feedback, thank you again.

Kind regards

Rubbish

March 17, 2023
Rubbish, can ring up first thing wait for ages – no appointment. Call next day and same thing happens, can’t get through to get repeat prescription so end up waiting weeks for another set of medicines.

Dear patient
I’m sorry to read your experience of ordering prescriptions.

We are aware it’s frustrating when trying to get through to the surgery during busy times.
We do have other options to use instead of calling the surgery; you can use the online service, just pop into the surgery and the
receptionist will set it up for you. V consult is another online
programme that is very popular for ordering medication. You can also ask your Pharmacy to order on your behalf or, you can pop into the surgery and the receptionist will order them for you.

I do hope one of the above options will make ordering repeat
prescriptions a more positive experience for you in the future.

Kind regards

Appalling experience

March 12, 2023
Poor experience of unprofessionalism from a doctor who was rude beyond belief. Lacking care, compassion or empathy.
This was the first time meeting this doctor and as my named GP it was an opportunity for her to gain a little insight. She has the authority to make important discisions about healthcare services available to me as i get older, and at 63 thats scary thought.
I was humilated by her dismissive manner, that in some way I did not meet the criteria of a patient she would be happy to give the time of day to.
This doctor provided minimal, if any evidence based information to me except to offer a print out. Just yes and no answers to my questions, deciding maybe that I lacked the ability to understand complex phrases, this robotic, tick box doctor failed to listen or understand. I did place a complaint about this consultation but it affected my care and how the service was available to me. I was a patient for 26 years before the merger of practices in 2020 and yet I feel the need to leave and find another GP practice following this experience.
College Green may have gained a new building but has lost openess and transparency, replaced with a practice business model that appears coporate-led rather than patient-led. It also lacks mental health awareness, even though on paper, those boxes are ticked!
The help I seek is not available for me at College Green Medical Practice.

Dear patient
I am so sorry to read this feedback.
We take all feedback very seriously and use it to learn from mistakes and enhance the service provided.
As your feedback is anonymous, there is no way of me knowing who the Doctor in question is, however, if you would like to discuss this further and in complete confidence, please contact the surgery and ask to speak to either me or Claire Hopkins. Please be assured that voicing your complaint will not have a negative impact on any future care you may need.

You can ask to be seen by a Dr of your choice and you can also state the name of any Dr you do not wish to treat you, this is your absolute right as a patient at CG.

I am so sorry about the negative experience you’ve had and I do hope you get in touch so we can do our very best to rectify the issue.

Kind regards
Joan Beddows

Dear patient
Please accept my sincere apologies for this late reply.

I know my reply is not going to help with your appointment for your hearing referral but for future reference you can use the V consult https://m85029.thevconsult.net/
This will secure you an appointment, either face to face or phone call in around 3 days.

The injections were fairly painless

December 1, 2022
I had a steroid injection in each of my knees this week. It was fairly easy to get the appointment with my named GP, who is one of the doctors who does injections. My appointment was over an hour late, but earlier in the morning he had a complex case to deal with. The injections were fairly painless, and the doctor discovered a bit of loose bone, for which I’m going to have an x-ray.

Dear Patient

Thank you for your feedback. It’s good to know the knee injections were fairly painless, as someone who suffers from frozen shoulder, I know the benefit from the injection.

I am sorry about the wait time you experienced, this can happen at times of emergencies or, as your case, the doctor is dealing with a complex consultation, we do appreciate your understanding.

Kind regards

Different doctor every time I go

December 1, 2022
Getting an appointment hasn't been too bad, my gripe is that I have to see different doctor every time I go.

Dear Patient
Thank you for your feedback and the 3 stars.
Seeing the same doctor is not normally an issue for a routine appointment that can wait be-tween 2 -3 weeks. However, if a more urgent appointment is needed, we will book you in with the first available Doctor in order to get you seen sooner. That said, it is always worth asking the receptionist to look out of a cancellation with your named doctor and change your appointment to suit. I hope this information has been of some use to you.

Shambolic

November 26, 2022
Problems with many prescriptions I order with items being left off - today is was my Fostair inhaler yet again meaning the brilliant pharmacy at Kings Cotteridge have to pick up the pieces and write an emergency prescription. It’s also inconvenient as I have to make a second journey.

Dear patient
Thank you for the feedback and your recognition of how we are improving.

The move to the new surgery did come with its own issues but we have come a long way since then. We’re not perfect, nothing is, however, we continue to listen to our patients, we continue to learn and we continue to improve and we will never stop doing so.

Patient feedback is very important to us and we really appreciate that you took the time to share your feedback with us.
