Can get appointments

They're now part of a partnership with other GP's in the area. I am able to get through on the phones to make an appointment.

They are not very good, you see someone different every time you go. But they are doing face to face appointments.

I have had 83 years of outstanding service during the Surgery being Granton based in Middleton Hall Road. For me personally the service continues at College Green which is some distance further but I am pleased I have stayed with them. The Receptionists are patient and pleasant and over the past few weeks have done everything to ensure that I am given the appointments specified by the Nurse. Indeed, when I first phoned with my particular problem a Senior Doctor phoned me and asked if I could "pop along" there and then ! I was amazed and of course delighted. They are doing their very best and I hope I can look foward to this standard continuing.

You can usually get a phone appointment the same or next day. My husband is bedridden, we live very close to the surgery but they don't always visit him. We were told a health visitor would come and give him a blood test but when she came she put a bandage on his big toe.
I need a new hip and I am worried about his care if I go into hospital. The care at home will change if the appointment is put off. I don't mind paying once but I don't want to pay several times.

Doctor called me to check my blood pressure and gave me face to face appointment. I was having trouble using the Blood Pressure machine the doctor checked my blood pressure and showed me how to use the machine.

The GP referred me to ROH on time for further treatment. Very helpful clinical staff. Although reception staff are very rude.

Great difficulty getting an appointment

Tried to make an appt online. System not working. Called surgery. Explained that I was experiencing bad side effects from medication. Offered an appointment over two weeks away or call at 8.30 following morning which I did. Had to keep redialling 5 times before I got into a queue waiting about a minute each time listening to a recorded message before being told to call back later. Eventually after about half an hour got through to be told no more appointments available and to call again tomorrow. Asked what if I can't get an appt tomorrow? Just told to try again tomorrow or they would.offer an appt in May three weeks away.
Poor instructions on their website re booking an appt on line. Took me an hour and a half from start to finish and eventually secured an appointment on line for a telephone consultation in over two weeks time. I was told by the GP who prescribed the medication to get in touch straight away if the side effects were unmanageable but I have to wait over a fortnight with no advice given in the meantime. Some reception staff seem poorly trained and only have one aim which is to get you off the phone.
No choice given for times for calls from GP.
I don't know how people who work manage to make an appointment at all taking into consideration the amount of time it takes to make an appointment. And for people with no access to the internet their chances of making an appt must be very limited.

Two systems for making appts which are not synchronized. Phone or V Consult. Problems getting logged onto V consult were understood by reception staff who were reluctant to provide the information I need to get logged on.
