The nurse is very helpful

July 31, 2024
The nurse was helpful and tried to get in contact with the doctor at QE. There was no response from them. She is very helpful when I ring them up.

Long time to get a diagnosis

Dementia
July 16, 2024
Diagnosed in 2022. It was a long time getting there. I saw them once in 2023. Had a scan and then went and diagnosed. They came to our home to discuss the diagnosis. They gave us a set of numbers to contact if we needed any information or support.

Rude and unprofessional nurse

Dementia

The nurse there is not very professional. Often I have found her rude and uninterested. She is not approachable when she was meant to be there for me to support with my husband's dementia.

I attend for Alzheimer's every 6-12 months. They keep on top of my appointments. They're usually really good. They keep us informed and review medication. Very good.

Lack of communication between services

Dementia
October 24, 2023
They prescribed medication for over a year and the GP called to ask who prescribed it. There is no communication between the two and that is worrying, because there could be a case where medication could clash if they're not talking to each other.

Changed medication, wait for appointment

Dementia
October 24, 2023
They talked to me here and changed my medication. I waited around 1 month for the appointment. They said it could be an affect from the Alzheimer's as to why I ended up in A&E, and prescribed me the medication to take.

Pretty hopeless. They discharged my mom and said she didn't need to be with them anymore. She is on a lot of medication and they prescribed medication for Alzheimer's, when she has Vascular Dementia.
