Very nice and very good team. They have done everything to help.
Amazing specialist care from ENT
Ear Nose and Throat
November 15, 2020
My daughter has had two complex ENT operations both during lockdown in May and then November this year. The care has been consistently excellent. Her nursing care was very good, they communicated really well with both of us and were caring and thoughtful. Her surgeon has gone above and beyond and if he had not been for him she would have very likely had been severe complications. We are very lucky to have had such expert care. He also takes time to communicate really carefully with us as parents but also with my daughter, and has really helped her to trust doctors again after difficult experiences locally. We have travelled from Cambridge for treatment here and we would travel twice as far if needed for treatment of this quality. All the staff cannot be praised enough for continuing such high quality care in the difficult circumstances currently
Poor service, poor attitudes
Paediatrics/children services

Some really good departments the General Paediatrics are pretty poor from what we have experienced. Patents seem a very low priority.

Support for Cystic Fibrosis is very good
March 20, 2020
Referred to Forward Thinking Birmingham as they could not help with mental health issues but helped only with Cystic Fibrosis issue. Support for Cystic Fibrosis is very good. One of the psychiatrist at BCH knew about Forward Thinking Birmingham and did the referral.

Staff professional and polite. There was a long waiting time for an appointment (6 months). Long waiting time during appointment to see everyone (9.40 now 12.30). Not enough thing to do for child in eye department, but main reception okay.
Parking difficult and expensive.

Todays appointment delayed which is frustrating as mother has an ongoing commitment and her lad has to be back in school.
We attend 3 monthly consultations - the staff are brilliant 'when you get there'.
Transport provision complicated.

Ward situation - pay attention (family interaction). In a local hospital for 2 weeks then transferred - attend regularly now every 2 to 4 weeks and making good progress.
Consulting staff - Listen carefully and take our opinion into consideration.

Our appointment was for 9.30 (its now 12.30). All 3 children have the same congenital autoimmune disease (very rare) so I travel on 2 buses with them to see the consultant every 3 months. I am happy with the treatment and facilities. There are plenty of play activities in reception.
