Excellent experience at Fertility Clinic

Gynaecology
October 30, 2019
Having been coming to the Fertility Clinic to undergo process of IVF, me and my husband's experience has been excellent. Staff was very professional and they put me at ease and comfortable all the time. As a HCA myself, I know staffing and pay in hospitals must be hard but I really hope they can sort this out because NHS people work extremely hard and are compassionate.

I had an amazing experience at Birmingham Womens Hospital, the staff over exceeded my expectations. Midwives were well trained and wouldn't imagine what I would have done without them.

Daughter went in to have baby

Maternity
April 2, 2019
After having baby my daughter was in pain and just before going home asked for pain relief. She was told to go home and buy her own as she should be aware how much a box of tablets cost NHS.
Also when she was taken to the ward from delivery suite it took three hours before she was allocated a cot for baby which she kept having to ask for.
She was also not supported as first time mum to wash and bathe baby for first time.

Nurse was good, but hospital way too hot

Gynaecology
February 13, 2019
Came for an appointment with the nurse. The waiting area was so hot, I honestly thought I was going to pass out. It triggered multiple hot flushes and there is no where cooler to sit, or even to get a drink of water. I wanted to stand outside for a bit, but was scared I'd miss being called for my appointment.
There aren't enough chairs when it's busy, and it can be overwhelming with people calling out from several directions, the radio blaring out and some people being noisy when waiting. No one asks them to be quiet. None of the staff check on the patients in the waiting area.
The specialist nurse though is great, very informed and helpful. Even the consulting room was too hot though, but she can't open her window more than an inch

Very good care, but too long waiting times

Maternity
February 13, 2019
When I was expecting my daughter I had to attend the ultrasound at 12 and 20 weeks. After the scan I was booked for blood test. Both times the waiting times were unbearable, and I ended up spending most day in the hospital waiting room, just waiting to be seen. It was very uncomfortable being pregnant and suffering from extreme morning sickness. For the scan I had to drink a lot of water but as the waiting time was so long, I had to use the toilet in between and then drink again a lot of water so that the scan could be successful. Because of the long waiting time and being worried that I would miss my appointment if I left, I was unable to leave the waiting room to get food, so I ended up not eating anything all day. By the time I got to the blood test at the end of the day the nurses had difficulty getting blood as they said I was so dehydrated by that point. They also told me that I wasn’t the only patient struggling with this as they book so many pregnant women it is difficult for them to deal with the demand and as a result patients are left waiting for hours. Being pregnant, feeling sick and not being able to eat, was extremely uncomfortable. On another hand, all staff were fantastic and the quality of care was excellent.

90 minute wait. Lost notes. No compassion

Gynaecology
February 6, 2019
10 minutes to check into clinic.
90 minutes wait for appointment with no explanation.
Lost notes.
Dr talking about her baby brain when discussing infertility.
3 hca s doing online training and not looking after patients.
Total lack of organisation and no compassion shown. Without my daughter having done her own research appropriate treatment would not have been offered.
