Poor communication from nurses and Drs

August 18, 2022
Further to a recent admission for shingles in May for my mother she was given too many painkillers which led to her becoming unresponsive, she then developed pneumonia and the severe magnesium deficiency. Over the queens jubilee she then had diahorrea for 7 days and there was very limited drs to help. Nurses on ward were rude, unsympathetic and shielded behind old Covid visiting rules to prevent us from seeing her . They were more concerned with enforcing the visiting policy at the time than listening to myself and family as carers for mom. Mom had language difficulties also but they weren't concerned by this. We requested call backs from the Dr in charge and this did not happen , the only way we got to speak to him was by visiting the wards everyday at his ward round times. Overall our experiment was absolutely appalling and we are putting in a formal complaint.

Need interpreter to understand information

August 8, 2022
It's difficult sometimes. When there's no interpreter I don't understand the information. They're miserable. I tell them I can't hear.

Brilliant

The treatment centre were so good, they are brilliant. I have appointments and I go there. I don't have to wait a long time. The signage isn't very good but the staff are really nice.

They didn't study me to see what's what

July 28, 2022
They're fine, I was referred by my GP and it was a quick referral process. The care was good but I didn't like what they did. I had a blocked artery and they gave me loads of meds that I told them I couldn't have. They didn't study me to see what's what.

Brilliant midwives

July 27, 2022
They've been brilliant, can't fault them. They give me my appointments on the badger app, but In prefer the old green notes as on the app there's no addresses for the appointments as they use a coding system. That's not communicated well.

They treated me well

They made everything go quick, now it's okay. They treated me well. The doctor was cool. They explained everything to me and even got an interpreter too. They book in regular 6 month check up's with me too.

They upset me

July 20, 2022
I was calling the nurses to give me tea and they ignored me. They upset me, then my sister came and gave me a drink. The staff did not pay attention to me. I believe they have a lot on their plate.

My daughter has been coming here for many years to visit the epilepsy nurse. They monitor my daughter and speak through what is going on with my daughters condition.
